Ivatt Way,
I bought a 06 Reg Corolla SR 49,000 two years ago. When I viewed the car I gave them a list of things I want doing to it before I buy, this included minor things like an aerial and a rubber grip on the clutch pedal and new wiper blades. I returned the car once to them about a week after buying because the rubber seal around the driver window was not sticking they fixed this no questions asked. The customer service was good. It's been nearly 2 years now and my car has been very reliable, I have had to change the brake pads and disks but I expected that as the car has done 60,000. They would have got 5 stars if when I viewed the car it had an aerial and clutch grip - I did find that to be a bit stingy, if I weren;'t in such a desperate situation I would have gone elsewhere based on this, however, I'm glad I didn't and now I have a good car that is very reliable - hard to come by these days. I certainly recommend.
As a recently divorced woman I was wary about looking for a car on my own. So I decided to do all my searching on the internet first. After narrowing down to a handful of cars. I decided to visit Carworld purely for the variety of choice at this stage. The staff let me browse on my own without anyone following me around. Still unsure of which car I approached a yound salesman (Warner). He helped me narrow the choice. The part exch price for mine was average but the car I finally chose was over £700 cheaper than the local vauxhall garage. Werner was great, he arranged for all the work we agreed to be done. I had to go back a week later as my key stopped working. they changed the battery - been fine since. I would go back
1st Steer clear of this place.I paid a £500 minimum deposit on a car and went to pick it up 5 days later. The car was supposed to come with a full years MOT. Although the MOT provided said it had passed 2 days before, one tyre was bald, another was barely passable and the exhaust was hanging off. Every tyre was different, although when I had viewed the car earlier in the week they had all been the same treads. The salesman lied and said the MOT was not done in house (it was) and refused to refund the deposit or allow me to speak to the manager. Only after I said I would take it straight to another testing station did they renew the tyre and mend the broken bracket (both MOT failures) I took it to another test station and it failed on the headlights, the vrn lights, and the brake lights. There was an advisory note on another tyre with a cracked wall. Did they just do an emissions test and write a ticket, because they certainly did not test the vehicle. They are refusing to refund the £5790 I paid and after another argument have reluctantly agreed to replace the damaged tyre and put the lights right. No compensation or even an admittance of responsibility. There were other families with children when I was there, picking up cars being sold by salesmen with no conscience
I found buying a car from Carworld very simple. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I saved nearly £900 compared to local car dealers I visited, I will definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy a car.
car world peterborough is fine if you dont want after sales service. My coil spring broke causing a tyre blow out within six weeks of purchase. car world said i should take the car to them to look at. how could i they agreed it should not be driven. a solicitor and the govenments trading standards say car world are liable to collect and repair the car. they just refuse to do so and have a list of excuses such as i should have bought their breakdown cover. i have breakdown cover but they only take you to the nearest dealer. i only tried to claim for the parts and would fit them myself. would not even consider using them again. if your new car breaks down try and do it in their garage or chances are you will be left stranded. try to use your car around ivatt way only. they are a joke, one star is far too many
